Pamela J. McClendon

Pamela J. McClendon, lovingly known as Pam, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 22, 1952, in Uvalde, Texas, Pam lived a life filled with faith, love, kindness, and devotion to family, friends, and the things she cherished most. Pam was preceded in death by her beloved husband and the love of her life, James McClendon; her parents, Willard and Ella Mae Plowman; her sister, Jean Ann Stewart; and her niece, Rachel Plowman. She is survived by her brother, Mark Plowman; her nieces, Jennifer Lopez and Rhonda Freeman; her nephew, Matthew Plowman; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. Pam was a proud Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and an active member of the Ladies of Texas Tradition (LOTT). She embraced the values of community, friendship, and Texas heritage throughout her life. Those who knew Pam knew of her deep love for animals. She never met a creature she would not feed or care for, and she found joy in nurturing all God's creatures. Some of her happiest moments were spent sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee, watching cardinals, hummingbirds, and deer visit her yard. It was there, in the simple beauty of nature, that she found peace and contentment. Pam had a gift for bringing warmth and light to those around her. The majority of the time, she could be found with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye, offering kindness, laughter, and encouragement to everyone she met. Above all else, Pam loved God, her family, and her country. Her faith guided her life, her love strengthened her family, and her generous spirit touched countless lives. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion, faith, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23 Pam's family finds comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved James and all those who have gone before her, and that her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2026 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston Humane Society.
