Nathan Andrew Monk

Nathan Andrew Monk came into this world May 7, 1984, at Polly Ryon hospital in Richmond, Texas. He attended St. John's Methodist church in Richmond, Texas, where he was christened and made Jesus, his savior on July 22, 1984. On April 1, 2016 Nathan went home to be with Jesus. Jesus told us ""Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you so. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."" John 14:1-3, 6-7. Nathan loved Jesus and is certainly with him right now. He lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors, had a fondness for sports, he had a particular passion for hunting, especially with his father Steve and his brother Randy. Nathan loved time with his friends and family, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. He enjoyed being with those he loved, people and pets… Especially his dog Callie. Nathan is survived by his parents, father Steve Monk and mother Debbie Nuttall Monk, brother Randy Clark and sister – in law Tiffani Clark niece Kennedy Clark & nephews Dylan Clark and Blayne Clark. Aunts Linda Otto & husband K.B. and Suzanne Nuttall. Cousins Mattisa Purfoiy & husband Michael, Raleigh Blackwell & wife DeAnn, Amy Bosse & husband Wyatt, Lee Anne Thumann & husband Keith. Nathan was very bright and extremely intelligent, loads of fun to discuss things with. He had his own opinions about everything and could back them up. He graduated from Lamar High School in 2003, and received a Bachelor's degree from Texas State University in 2014, in Criminal Justice. Nathan was preceded in death by grandparents Douglas Lonnie Monk, Muriel Monk Tarkington, Arthur Edward Nuttall and Lilye Elizabeth Nuttall, Great-Aunt Ethel Nuttall and Aunt Rebecca Nuttall. Nathan will be missed, by many people, for many things to each person something special. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with burial following at the Needville Public Cemetery in Needville. Pallbearers will include Randy Clark, Cameron Guinn, Mason Guinn, Cody Johnson, Jake Talasek, Justin Talasek, Travis Tully, and Chase Van Slyke. Honorary pallbearers will include Steve Rye, Trevor Tully, Niels Wright, Raleigh Blackwell, Wyatt Bosse and Keith Thumann. For those wishing, memorials may be made in Nathan's name to any of the following: Fort Bend National Alliance for Mental Illness which helps families and individuals; Mental Health America - Fort Bend which provides education and awareness; Fort Bend County SPCA which provides care and services for animals; or to the Charity of your Choice.
