Michael Ross Newlin

Michael Ross Newlin passed away July 4, 2012, at 10:00 PM. He loved fireworks and the sounds of the 4th surrounded him that evening. Ross was on born Sept. 13, 1964, in Richmond, Tx. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kimberly, son Michael Ross Newlin II, daughter Renee Bernice, father Arthur "Jack" William Newlin, Jr. of Richmond, mother Marilyn McCarty and husband Gary of Needville, sister Gay Young and husband, Nathan of Richmond, Michelle Foreman and husband James, of Houston, brother, Arthur William, III and wife, Sharon, of Hungerford, Uncle Herschel Frey and wife Harriet of Encinitas, Ca., and lifelong friends Ray and Scott Hinsley. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Arthur William I and Arnita Newlin, Michael Lewis and Estella Frey, and sister Brenda Newlin. Ross was a 1987 graduate of Texas A & M College Station, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets as was his father. He obtained a Master of Business Administration from Houston Baptist University. He was a proud member of the "Tejas Vaqueros" for over 20 years. He was extremely intelligent and with his stringent work ethic, was in demand in various fields of expertise, especially the energy industry specifically the building and supervising of wind power turbines, serving as vice president over North American operations for Enxco, Inc. Ross was tough, disciplined, dedicated and most of all, caring man to his family and friends. He was invaluable for his guidance and contributions toward the lives and decisions of those he loved. He always had goals and plans and carried them through no matter how difficult or challenging. He loved cars, car racing and re-built several Mustangs with his son Michael and was working on an experimental electric vehicle with his daughter Renee. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many fun and happy times hunting and fishing at the family ranch in south Texas. He will be dearly missed by those whom he knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances in Ross's name be made to a children's charity of their choice.
