Marla LeLeux Kappus

Marla LeLeux Kappus, 64, of Sugar Land, Texas passed away on May 31, 2023, at her home in Sugar Land. She was born on March 15, 1959, in Houston, Texas to E.J. and Betty Francis LeLeux. Marla was a faithful member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. She had a deep-rooted faith that included reading and listening to the Word of God. Marla is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Francis (Moon) LeLeux and her brother, David Todd LeLeux. Survivors include her loving husband of over 30 years, David Wayne Kappus; father, E.J. LeLeux; sister-in-law, Donna LeLeux; nephew, Zachariah LeLeux and wife, Hannah and their son, Efton; nephew, Elijah Jake LeLeux; along with extended family and a host of friends. Marla was a graduate of South Houston High School and the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She went on to work for JP and John Bryan at Torch Energy Advisors Inc. and Marathon Administration Co. for over 35 years. She held multiple positions and established long term loving relationships with many of her coworkers. Marla loved the Lord Jesus with her whole heart and was known for having a very deep faith in God and a strong prayer life. She loved her Sunday School class, making newcomers welcome, maintaining the prayer requests and participating in her women’s prayer group. She took on the role of caregiver for her father for several years as a humble servant of God. Her favorite past times include dancing, walking, dining out, and watching movies. She loved talking about her husband’s military service and his devotion to our savior Jesus Christ. This loving wife, daughter, aunt and friend will be missed. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Star of Hope, an organization near and dear to Marla.
