Funeral services for Maria G. Jimenez, 45, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. During visitation, friends may share stories and eulogies from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., followed by a Bilingual Prayer Service from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Marie was born July 24, 1968 in Richmond to Paulino and Rebecca Romero Jimenez. Marie was a life-long resident of Rosenberg where she lived since childhood. She graduated from B.F. Terry High School and went on to Medical School. Marie was a Certified Medical Assistant at the office of Amirali Popatia, M.D. Oncologist for 10 years. The love she gave to her patients was unwavering. She always had a smile on her face and a hug to give. Marie's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and especially her mother. Her hobbies included cooking, especially at the Holidays and being involved in sports with her children and grandchildren. Marie would always offer assistance and guidance to others. She loved collecting Angel figurines and has now gone on to be our Guardian Angel. She will be deeply missed. Marie passed away October 13, 2013 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She is preceded in death by her father, Paulino Jimenez. Marie is survived by her mother, Rebecca Jimenez; children, Carlos Alejandro Jimenez, Sr. and Isaias Jose Zarate; granddaughter, Alexa Brooke Jimenez Cantu; grandson, Carlos Alejandro Jimenez Cantu, Jr., sisters, Rebecca A. Jimenez and Maricela Grable and husband, Jeffrey; step sister, Maria Consuelo Jimenez de Zarate; aunt, Elisa Romero; nephews, Jacob Grable and Joshua Grable; one step-nephew, three step-nieces; along with other relatives and many friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Palliative Care Center for their support in her final days. During her journey with cancer Marie received an out-pouring of support; whether it was prayers, cards, e-mails or visits, and for that the family is grateful.
