Funeral services for Lydia Hubenak Himly, 95 , of Rosenberg, will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas. Burial will follow in Davis Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at the Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas. Mrs. Himly died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Oak Bend Skilled Care in Richmond, Texas. She was born on December 29, 1918, in Pleak, Texas. She graduated from Rosenberg High School in 1937. On October 15, 1940, she married Woodrow Himly, who preceded her in death in 2005. She was employed at Guided Child Day Care and was very active in the Robert E. Lee PTA, a Cub Scout den mother, St. John's United Church of Christ Martha Circle, volunteered with bingo at Fort Bend Nursing Home, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Himly, her parents, Gusta Barcak and Pete Hubenak, her brother, Bennie Hubenak, and her brother-in-law Eugene Himly. She is survived by two sons, Walter Himly and wife, Gloria of Rosenberg, Texas and James Himly of Port Lavaca, Texas; grandchildren, Denise Eastwood and husband, Jimmy, Darrell Himly and wife, Gayle, and Cheryl Schulte and husband, Greg; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Schulte, Connor Himly, Alyssa Schulte and Kammi Eastwood; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Hubenak and Etta Mae Himly,; two nieces and one nephew. The pallbearers are her grandsons, Darrell Himly, Jimmy Eastwood, Greg Schulte, and great-grandson, Connor Himly, and Carlton Niemeyer and Larry Barcak . Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Denise Eastwood, Cheryl Schulte, Gayle Himly, and her great grandchildren, Rebecca Schulte, Alyssa Schulte and Kammi Eastwood. Mrs. Himly was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Rosenberg, Texas Memorials can be made to St. John's United Church of Christ Improvement Fund, the Choir Fund or St. John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
