Lydia Theresa Eicher

Lydia Theresa (Piwetz) Eicher, 96, of Rosenberg, TX passed away in her home on January 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 1, 1927 in Clodine, TX to Jim and Julia (Maresh) Piwetz. On August 30, 1949 she married Frank C. Eicher at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Together they created a beautiful life and were blessed with seven children. In her early years she worked for several local attorneys. Once the children were older she went to work for the Fort Bend County District Clerks Office in Richmond where she retired after 20 years. Lydia shared her time and talents with many religious and civic organizations. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over 70 years, where she was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Additionally, she was a generous supporter of Holy Rosary Catholic School. Other organizations she was involved with include Alter Society, Choir, Young at Heart, KJZT, PALS, American Legion, VFW, and the Railroad Museum. Lydia is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Frank C. Eicher; parents Jim & Julia Piwetz; infant son Mark; sisters Cecilia Shimek, Annie Eben, Agnes Pasteka, Martha Wanjura, Dorothy Baca and one brother, Henry (Butch) Piwetz. Survivors include: Sons Patrick Eicher, Marion (Mike) Eicher, daughters Dolores Olson (Judd), Monica Bolin (Ric), Marilyn Rios (Eddie) and Karen Slavinski (Bobby). Grandchildren are Jason Bolin (Amy), Eric Bolin (Jill), Brett Olson (Amy), Laura Olson, Victoria Ramirez (Daniel), Josef Rios (Kailey), Madeline Buckle (Joseph), Michael Eicher, Chelsea Froberg (Charles), Caitlin Slavinski and Olivia Slavinski. Great Grandchildren Hannah, Kyle and Clay Bolin, Ty and Ellie Bolin, Presley and Max Froberg, Sadie Slavinski, Nolan and Abigail Olson, Alli Olson, and arriving soon Isela Ramirez and Bristol Slavinski. Lydia lived a full life and loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed many special hobbies including gardening, dancing, sewing, baking, making homemade ice cream, playing dominoes, traveling, and reading. She loved her Astros and especially “her boy” Kyle Tucker. She often said she loved having a noisy house as it brought so much life to her home. This loving, kind mother, granny, aunt and friend will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Fairmont Hospice for the care they extended to her during her illness. Additionally, special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Faith and Betty Jo who showed her such love and compassion. Pallbearers are: Jason and Eric Bolin, Brett Olson, Michael Eicher, Gary Gregory and Joe Eben. Honorary pallbearer is Josef Rios. Public visitation will be held in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, TX on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, TX on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with a reception following at the Holy Rosary Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Lydia Eicher to Holy Rosary Catholic School or church in Rosenberg.
