Lucille Josephine Ferguson

Lucille Josephine Ferguson died peacefully on Easter Day, April 5, 2015. She was born in Scappoose, Oregon to the late Frank V. and Marie A. Hlavinka on September 28, 1925. The family then moved to East Bernard, Texas when she was a small child, where she remained for most of her life. She loved the community and was very proud of her Czech heritage. She worked as a beautician, serving a large number of the town's residents and managed MFS Storage, a self-storage facility. Lucille moved to The Atria Sugar Land retirement home in her later years where she enjoyed making many new friends and participated in a variety of activities. Lucille was pre-deceased by her husband, George H. Ferguson, whom she married in 1947 and by her sister, Patricia A. Viaclovsky. She is survived by her children: Franklin G. Ferguson and his wife Rita and Marsha Turner and her husband Leighton. In addition she is survived by three grandchildren: Lesley and Brandon Turner and Santiago Ceron. She is also survived by her brother Joseph H. Hlavinka and wife Hattie, nephews Ron Janice Viaclovsky and Don Rosanne Hlavinka, her niece Nancy Kolafa, and their children. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 839 Church Street, East Bernard, Texas with Father Don Schwarting officiating. Pallbearers will be Santiago Ceron, Brandon Turner, Francisco Vides, Ron Viaclovsky, Don Hlavinka, Paul Hlavinka, Chris Hlavinka, and Toby Hlavinka. The family would like to express their appreciation to the residents and staff of The Atria and to her personal caregivers for making her years there a time of happiness. In addition, they want to thank her family and friends for calling and visiting her while she was at The Atria.
