Lila J. Moyer

Lila J. Moyer, previously of Burlington, N.C., died Friday, March 9, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in law, Debbie and Doug Rambin of Sugar Land, Texas. Lila was 84 years old and died of a very aggressive brain tumor. From diagnosis to death was about 1 ½ months. We, her family, are very thankful she endured very little physical pain. Lila was born on February 20, 1928 in Ryder, North Dakota. She was the 2nd of 4 children; Henry, Lila, Dale, and Darlene. Her parents Selmer and Hilma Johnson raised their family in the Lutheran faith. While she was raised in North Dakota, Lila moved to California with a girlfriend at the age of 19. There she met and married Thomas Tynan. They had two children; Tim and Debbie. Thomas died in 1963. In 1965, Lila married Earl Moyer. With their families combined, they would have a total of 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Lila and Earl lived a very full life. They lived in Whittier, CA; Dallas, TX; New York City, NY; and would settle in North Carolina for the next 30 years. They both loved bowling and bridge. Earl would move on to heaven in 1992. Lila remained in Burlington, N.C. In June, 2011, Lila moved to Sugar Land, Texas, to be closer to her daughter, Debbie. She lived at "the Terrace at First Colony" Independent Living Apartments and thoroughly loved it. She also loved being close to her daughter, Debbie. Lila loved her friends and we thank you for loving her. Lila is preceded in Heaven by her parents, her brother, Henry; Earl's son, Jim and her granddaughter, Beckey. She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Meredith Johnson; sister, Darlene Hingst; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Claudia Tynan; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Doug Rambin. Lila has 7 remaining grandchildren, Tim, Amanda, Glen, Mark, Sue, Sally and Shelly. She was lucky enough to also have 12 great grandchildren. Lila's Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 800 Brooks Street, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
