Lee Edward Cook

Funeral services for Lee Edward Cook, 75, of Rosenberg, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Lee was born on July 31, 1938 in Bryan, Texas to Grady Caldwell Cook and Ada Ruth Reed Cook. He graduated from Missouri City High school where he played football and was a member of a boxing team. Lee served our country in the National Guard. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg. Lee was a member and past Master of Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #881. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Fort Bend County Shrine Club, Arabia Shriners, and the American Legion Post #271. He was a volunteer fireman for the Richmond Fire Department for many years. He retired from HL&P after 32 years of services. Some of his hobbies included listening to old Country-Western music, collecting pocket knives, playing cards and taking trips to Coushatta and Branson. Known as "Paw-Paw" to his grandchildren, Lee enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. He passed away on January 24, 2014 in Richmond, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Ada Cook and his siblings, Grady Cook, J.L. Cook, Audrey Cook Cotton, Marc Cook and David Cook. Lee is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Hafer Cook; children, Kimberly Grimmett and husband, Russell, Steven Cook and wife, Kathy, and Jeff Cook and wife, Rebecca; brother-in-law, Michael Hafer and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Tye McAnear, Lindsey Salazar and husband, John Michael, April Grimmett and husband, Andy, Dustin Cook and wife, Katy, Stephanie Huffman and husband, Dustin, Clay Cook and Caylee Cook; great granddaughter, Corley Ann Salazar; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will include Tye McAnear, John Michael Salazar, Dustin Cook, Dustin Huffman, Clay Cook, Cody Cook, Aaron Hafer and Brett Hafer.
