Kenneth Bryce "K.B." Otto

Kenneth Bryce Otto, 84 of Needville, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born on December 11, 1932 at home in Needville, Texas to John W. and Alma (Schendel) Otto. He graduated from Needville High School in 1949 as part of the first graduating class. Kenneth served in the Army as part of the 6th Infantry Division Company G. He was a 60+ years Master Mason and a member of the Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #880 as well as a member of the American Legion of Needville Post #350. Kenneth was also a member of the Sons of Herman Lodge of Needville and Immanuel Evangelical Church. In 1981 he married the love of his life Linda and gained three children, Amy, Lee Anne and Raleigh, who he adored. He followed all their events, even driving a 100 miles on Friday night to watch Raleigh play football. He lived his whole life in Needville, the town founded by his grandfather, August Schendel. He was a life-long Farmer & Rancher in Fort Bend, Brazoria, Wharton & Atascosa Counties. He served as President of the Board & General Manager of the Needville Grain Warehouse for many years. He also served as Mayor of Needville. Kenneth was known to many people by many names, KB, Zonie and his favorite was Pop. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & uncle. He loved nothing more than to have his family, cousins and friends gathered around his table for Sunday Lunch. Special love and thanks to long time care givers Annette & Ernest Bledsoe & Diane Bell. The family would like to thank all the people of Encompass Hospice. Kenneth enjoyed hunting with his close friends, telling stories & pulling pranks on each other. In his later years, he enjoyed cooking for the hunters at the ranch & watching his grandsons hunt on the same land that he did when he was younger. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Wesley Otto, Jr., his nephew Nathan Monk & daughter-in-law DeAnn Blackwell as well as his beloved dog Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Monk Otto, his children Amy & Wyatt Bosse, Lee Anne & Keith Thumann & Raleigh Blackwell, III. His grandchildren, Rachel (Jeremy Johnson) & Ty Blackwell, Emily & Drew Different, Jacob, John & Lauren Bosse and Bryce & Kyle Thumann and his great-grandson Brayden Blackwell. Kenneth is also survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Otto, his brother-in-law Steven Monk & Cristyn Hallmark, his niece & nephews, Laura Beth & Scott Smothermon, Karl & Martha Otto, Wesley Otto, Johnny, Jill & Evan Otto. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The burial will follow at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville. Pallbearers will be Jacob Bosse, Ty Blackwell, John Bosse, Bryce Thumann, Kyle Thumann, Wesley Otto, Karl Otto & Johnny Otto. Honorary Pallbearers Raleigh Blackwell, Wyatt Bosse, Keith Thumann, Walter Todd, Gary Schultz, Bud Stewart and Steven Monk. Following the burial in Needville, everyone is invited to a reception at Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville.
