Juan "John" Juarez

Juan Juarez, fondly known as “John”, 61, of Sugar Land, Texas went to be with his Lord & Loved Ones on May 22, 2017. He was born December 14, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Porfirio Juarez and Isidora Reyna Balderas. John worked for D.P.S. for 27 years, retiring as a Corporal. He was a member of the Sanctuary Fellowship Church in Rosenberg. John loved being “Gandpa” to his five granddaughters. His hobbies included playing poker with friends, watching the news, and keeping in touch with friends and family on Facebook. You could often find him out in the yard, keeping everything just perfect – or even listening to rain fall on bad weather days. This loving husband, father, uncle, father-in-law,“Gandpa”, brother and friend will be missed. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings, Severo Balderas, Alexandro Balderas and Porfirio Juarez. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Norma Juarez; sons, Carlos Juarez and wife, Christina, and Marcus Juarez and wife, Diana; granddaughters, Mercedes, Melody, Abigail, Haylee and Leyla Juarez; siblings, Emma Macik, Paula Ramirez, Elvira Martinez, Felix Juarez and Ernestina Juarez; along with extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Carlos Juarez, Marcus & Diana Juarez, Nelson Cruz, Richard Alvarado, Gary Stahlheber, Adrian Martinez, Ruben Vasquez and Freddie Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will include Wallace Sibley, Robert Ramirez, Benny Martinez, Tommy Almaraz, Pete Almaraz, Victor Castillo, Jr., Albert Juarez, Dallas Chance, Tyler Youngs, Steven Vasquez and Sonny Martinez on behalf of Adam Martinez. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John’s memory to the Sanctuary Fellowship Church, 1315 Market Street, Richmond, Texas 77469.
