John P. Jeffery

John P. Jeffery,” Jeff” 79, formerly of Damon, Texas passed away on May 3, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1944, in Manhattan, New York to Pervis R. and Inez C. Jeffery. John honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. After the U.S. Army he owned many different small companies over the years. Such as a collection agency in Fort Worth Texas, a preowned furniture and appliance store, Hilltop Discount Furniture, in Fort Worth Texas, then multiple new and preowned furniture and appliance stores also Hilltop Discount Furniture in Weatherford, Granbury and Stephenville Texas, eventually settling into Jeffery Sales furniture in Azle Texas. Always one to tell a good story, some of John’s hobbies included fishing, gardening and going dancing. John was a God-fearing man. He was Baptized many years ago in New York State. In recent years, he would attend church with his son, Jason and daughter in law Regina at Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville. This father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will truly be missed. In addition to his parents Pervis and Inez, John is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlynne Truett. Survivors include his son, Jason Jeffery and wife, Regina; daughter, Jennifer Truett and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Jarrod, Jeffery, Preston Jeffery, Cutter Hopkins and wife Heather, Presley Barton and husband Matt, Kennedy Hopkins, Chierra and husband Aaron, Cameron, Carter, Jaden, Jaxon, and Jenna ; great grandchildren, Emmitt, Elliott, Preston, Thad, Denley and Hudson. Sister, Jan Harris; brother, Jim Jeffery and wife Betty, nephew, Bob Harris and wife, Regina; Neice, Pam Jeffery along with extended family and friends. John is also survived by special friend, LaVonne Heckman and her son, Travis Heckman. Travis’s children Randy, Trever, Kya, Robert, Travis and Johnathan. The Heckman family brought so much joy and happiness in the final years of John’s life. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 15th at Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville Tx. with Pastors Greg Garcia and Jeremy Balleweg officiating.
