Joe Lynn Woolley

Joe Lynn Woolley “Joey” went home to his Lord and Savior on March 30, 2023 at age 60. After a long and courageous fight with cancer, may he now rest in peace. Born in Houston, TX on July 13, 1962, the son of Joe H Woolley and Sharon (Smith) Woolley. Joey grew up in Sugar Land, TX. He married the love of his life Marie Stack Woolley on October 3, 1987. They had 2 sons Jesse, and Jacob Woolley. Joey lovingly adopted Jesse to be his son when Jesse was 4 years old. Joey and Marie made their home in Richmond, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Woolley. He is survived by his father, Joe H Woolley. His loving wife, Marie. His son, Jesse and fiancé Kathryn Hunter and daughter, Deliah. His son, Jacob and girlfriend, Sabrina Zaldana. His sister, Melanie Elliott and husband Don. His sister, Madeline Alaniz and husband Ron. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a host of loving family members and friends. Joey is a graduate of Dulles High School, Sugar Land, TX and later went on to attend Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He studied Fire Safety and began his career as a Firefighter for Sugar Land Fire Department working his way up to Battalion Chief. He retired from SLFD in 2013. He then served as Fire Chief for Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department in Richmond, TX for many years. For so many years he dedicated his life to serve others. He was a genuine man with a kind heart. Always willing to take time out of his day to make sure you had what was needed above his needs. He left the fire service to seek treatment for Cancer. Perhaps Joey is best known for his love of the outdoors and the Green Bay Packers and serving in his community. He loved fishing and hunting with his dad. Joey was happiest spending time with his family and friends and cracking a few jokes and listening to his son Jacob play the drums and sing. His love for Marie and family shone through his daily life, and he was a devoted follower of Christ. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. A Celebration of Life service is set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at River Pointe Church in Richmond, TX.
