Jerry D. Sebesta

Jerry Sebesta, 67, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away surrounded by his family, Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was born October 6, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas to Frank and Leona (Tomczak) Sebesta. Jerry worked for Anderson Clayton Cottonseed Mill until 1983. From there Jerry went to work at W.A. Parish Power Plant in Thompson, Texas, ending his career as a Head Operator after 41 years of service. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, golfing, poker, and playing pool. Mostly, he just loved being with family and friends. In February 2018, Jerry received the gift of a heart transplant at Methodist Hospital in Houston. God gave him 7 ½ extra years to enjoy spending time making memories with all the special people in his life. His favorite thing was being called “Popo”. He adored his grandchildren and was so very proud of each one. Jerry was known for his huge heart and would offer help to anyone who needed it. He was loving, hardworking, stubborn, caring, compassionate, warmhearted, loyal, and had his own great sense of humor. He was diagnosed with cancer in June 2025. He fought a hard fight, but his physical body was tired and couldn’t keep up with the determination he had in his heart to keep going. This father, brother, uncle, Popo, and friend will be deeply missed. Family and friends find comfort that he is no longer in pain and will be watching over them from above. Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things has passed away.” Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Leona Sebesta, grandparents Bennie and Helen Sebesta, Pete and Rosie Tomczak, and many other relatives. Left to cherish his memory are his children Jeremy Sebesta, Wesley Sebesta (wife: Cindi), Amy Raabe (husband: Brian), grandchildren Caleb Raabe, McKinlee Sebesta, Madison Sebesta, brother Ronnie Sebesta (wife: Sharon), nephews Christopher Sebesta (wife: Jessica), Matthew Sebesta (wife: Carrie); great-nephew Josh Sebesta, Special friends Ted Koen and Vickie Robbins, along with many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2025 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Chris Sebesta, Matthew Sebesta, Josh Sebesta, Jason Fajkus, Ted Koen, Harry Jr. Tomczak, Jason Raabe, and Josh Watson.
