James P. Hippler

Funeral services for James P. Hippler, 79, of Richmond, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel Rosenberg with Rev. Carmen Rickel officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Jim was born August 31, 1931 in Florine, Louisiana to Napoleon and Lena Powell Hippler. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a long-time member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond. He owned and operated Hippler Air Conditioning locally and was a member of the Electrical Board for the City of Richmond. He was known as "Jim" to family and friends and "PawPaw" or "Pops" to his grandchildren. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time on his porch singing. He passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at his residence in Richmond. Jim never met a stranger and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon and Lena Hippler; sister, Wanda Barrett; and brothers, Mike Ayres. Jim is lovingly survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois E. Hippler; children, Harold Hippler, Cheryl Banfield and husband, Andy, James Hippler and wife, Nancy, Mark Hippler and wife, Stacy, and Curtis Hippler and wife, Tabitha; grandchildren, Angela Banfield and Ashley Banfield, Justin Hippler and wife, Courtney, Crystal Brock and husband, Doug, Derrick Hippler and wife, Amanda, Jeremiah Hippler, Camden Hippler, Dylan Hippler, Cullen Hippler, and Keaton Hippler; great-grandchildren, Derrick Hippler, Landon Brock, and Cadon Brock; brother, Wayne Hippler; sisters, Evon Wrobliski, Shirley Freeman and husband, Leonard, Melva Lynn Hayes, Virginia Orfilia and husband, Dr. Ansley, and Tommy Joy McDaniels and husband, Gillus; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
