GEORGIA BEE REEGER BEARD Georgia Bee Reeger Beard, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed away on December 4, 2012 in Missouri City, Texas following a long illness. She was a resident of Ft. Bend County for over 70 years. She was born in 1919 in Ranger, Texas to parents George Bruce Reeger and Lottie Margaret Freeman Reeger. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, E. E. Gene Beard and her parents. She was the last member of her generation of a large loving family. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Regina Reeger Johnson, Caroline Harrold Pierce, and Dorothy Reeger Compton and her brothers Kenneth Reeger, Luther Reeger and Thomas Reeger and their spouses as well as her husband's parents, his 4 sisters, his brother and their spouses. She is survived by her children Francis Beard and wife Joyce of Huntsville, Michael Beard and wife Nita of Cypress, Janice Beard Norman and husband Jerry of Houston, David Beard and wife Mary Lou of Richmond, Daniel Beard and wife Ann of Damon, and Margie Beard of Rosenberg. She is also survived by her grandchildren Russel Beard, Corpus Christi, Robyn Beard Foreman and husband Mark, Wallis, Karen Beard Campbell and husband Keith, Katy, Jason Beard and wife Angie, New Waverly, Jon Beard and wife Karen, Austin, Erin Norman Fujimoto and husband Dave, Clovis, New Mexico, Kim Beard Grimmett and husband Dave, Houston, Juli Woods Grayless, Cypress, Marc Norman and wife Francene, Portland, Oregon, Joel Beard, Katy, Trisha Beard, Rosenberg, Katie Beard, Houston, Jessica O'Connell, Rosenberg, and Kevin Beard, Stafford. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and a large extended family. She was a long-time member of Graeber Road Church of Christ. She worked for Lamar Consolidated Independent School District as a cafeteria manager for over 16 years, retiring in 1982. Her greatest and favorite roles were as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful Christian who personified her faith and was a nurturer and encourager to everyone she knew. A special thanks to the staff at Optimum Personal Care Home who lovingly cared for her for the past four years. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 pm Friday, December 7 in the chapel at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home . Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8 at 10 A.M. in the chapel at Davis-Greenlawn Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. For those who desire, the family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
