George H. Janik

A funeral mass for George H. Janik, 68, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 17, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father William D. Bartniski will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a rosary at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. George was born July 27, 1941 in East Bernard to Jerry B. Janik and Louise Sindel Janik. He worked at WKM from 1961 until June of 1994 and then went to work for Dorian Tool International, retiring after more than 7 years. George was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served as a C.Y.O. Youth Leader. He was involved with Little League Teams in several capacities, including coaching, managing and being an umpire. George had several hobbies which included fishing, gardening and woodworking. He enjoyed traveling Texas with his family. George passed away May 12, 2010 at OakBend Medical Center in Richmond. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Louise Janik; brother, Jerome Janik; sister, Helen Wray; and an infant sister, Evelyn Janik. George is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Gertrude Mazen Janik; daughter, Diana Armentor and husband, James; son, Kent Janik Rachel Davies; sister, Henrietta Walker and husband, William; step grandson, Michael Armentor; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Marvin Wisnoski, Vincent Kubeczka, Ronnie Lineberger, David LaGrone, Jeff Mosley and Chris Glass. Honorary Pallbearers will include Raymond "Bud" Meyer and Roy Munoz.
