Frances Rodriguez Luna

Frances Rodriguez Luna, 87, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on May 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1937, in Richmond, Texas to Elias and Frances Rodriguez. Frances retired from the U.S. Customs Service after 38 years and was a member of the National Active & Retire Federal Employees (NARFE). She was also involved with the Ft. Bend Interfaith Council and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). She was a life-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg where she served on several committees including President of the Pastoral Council and serving as a Lector for 30 years. Frances was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #3903, and a Member of the Business & Prof. Organization. (B.P.W.). Frances was also very active with the Ft. Bend County Toastmasters, Happy Cousins Dance Club, Business & Professional Women’s Club and the Ft. Bend Lioness Clubs. Another proud accomplishment was when Frances had the privilege to participate as an Editor for the Border Agent Mystery Book Series written by Ray Summers, a fellow Agent. She was even mentioned in the book Central School Junior Police: The Adventures of A Federal Agent written by Bill Everett. Frances’ legacy will live on through the countless lives she has touched over the years professionally, religiously, and socially. In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her brothers, Joe, Johnny and Ernest Rodriguez; sisters, Mary Nieto and Dolores Skinner and sister-in-law, Esther Rodriguez. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Alfonso Luna; daughter, Vanessa Luna; son, Michael Wayne Luna (Pamela); grandchildren, Zachary Martin Zernick (Natalie), Jacob Alfonso Zernick, Magdalene Frances Marie Zernick, and Riannah Mandi Luna; great grandchild, Zara Anastacia Zernick; Siblings, Elias Rodriguez (Mary), Martin Rodriguez (Lydia), and Lupe Zamora (Eddie), sister-in-law, Mary Helen Rodriguez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Lee Flores officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Zachary Zernick, Jacob Zernick, Eddie Zamora, Jr., Riannah Luna, Susan Zamora and Justin Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will include J.C. Rodriguez, Patrick Rodriguez, Ciseo Rodriguez, Greg Rodriguez, Cody Skinner, Travis Skinner and John Rodriguez.
