Fernando M. Martinez

Fernando Martinez, 77, of Houston, TX passed away on August 2,2023 in Webster, TX. He was born in Mexico on June 27, 1946 to Manuel and Lucia Martinez. He later went on to marry Nicolasa in 1970, residing in California for six years then moving to Houston, TX where together they raised three children. Fernando was a principled man of respect and integrity. He was loyal and brave. He was patient, generous, and kind with all those he encountered. He was a man of faith who devoted his life to his wife and family, leaving a great example. He spent the majority of his years working in the dairy industry. His hobby and passion were baseball, pitching for local league teams in both Mexico and California. He loved to root for his hometown Astros. Fernando was a huge fan of family gatherings, a time he was grateful to connect with his brothers, sisters, and their families. He frequently traveled many miles to visit his family and friends in his hometown of El Tepozan, S.L.P, Mexico. This loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will truly be missed by many. In addition to his parents, Fernando is preceded in death by a son Fernando Martinez Jr. and a brother, Eladio Martinez. Survivors include his wife of nearly 52 years, Nicolasa Tobias Martinez; daughter Jessica Mansfield and husband, Bill; and son Miguel Angel Martinez and wife, Belda; daughter-in-law Tammy Henderson Martinez; grandchildren, Morgan and Magdalena Mansfield; Miguel Angel Jr., Leah and Myah Martinez; numerous brothers and sisters; along with extended family and friends. Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the Rosary at 10:30am and service at 11:00am on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. TX. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg with Deacon Billy Guerrero to officiate.
