Errol Alan Odom

Errol Alan Odom from Rosenberg, Texas passed away in Missouri City, Texas early Thursday evening, August 26, 2021, at the age of 81; days before his 82nd birthday. He was born in Lecompte, Louisiana, on Sept. 17, 1939, to Walter Odom and Fronie Doyal Odom. Alan moved to Bishop, Texas, 1957 and was employed Celanese Bishop Plant. On August 26, 1960, he married Virginia Compton, They moved to Rosenberg, Texas and established Odom’s Welding in 1974 for 47 years they lived in Rosenberg, where they raised their two sons. Alan enjoyed following his grandson Tye all over the United States playing baseball, cooking for his family and friends siting on his chair enjoying a good cigar. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Walter Odom, Charles Odom; sisters, Emma Alice Varnado and Barbra Odom. Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia Odom; children, George Odom(Karen) Lake Jackson, TX and Troy Odom(Teena) Kingsville, TX , sister, Rona Nelson; Grandchildren Tye Odom, Kingsville, TX, Hunter Woodall(Sydney)San Antonio, TX, Zachary Woodall(Michelle)Pleasanton, TX, McKenzie Woodall of San Antonio, TX, Will Hopkins of Manhattan, NY and Jackson Hopkins of Lake Jackson, TX , great-grandchildren; Piper Woodall & Kashton Woodall numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rsosenberg. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Avenue, Rosenberg with Pastor Nate Sprinkle officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Many thanks to all the Staff of Park Manor of Quail Valley Rehabilitation Center.
