Dorothy Jean Ferguson Raska

Funeral services for Dorothy J. Raska, 78, of Houston, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 14, 2008 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pastor Lori Keaton will officiate the services. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, July 13, 2008 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Dorothy was born September 2, 1929 to Roy and Grace Reed Ferguson. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. Dorothy became very independent over the years after losing her husband in 1977. She worked for a dentist in Southwest Houston to occupy her time and mind and later volunteered for many years at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Before her health limited her activities, her love was duplicate bridge, which she spent many hours playing and formed many great friendships. Dorothy was a duplicate bridge player and was excited when she became a Life Master. She passed away July 10, 2008 in Bay City. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allan Ray Raska; her son, David Raska; her parents, Roy and Grace Ferguson; and her brother, Fred Ferguson. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Kenneth Raska and his wife, Lurae, of Needville, MichaelMike Raska and his wife, Kalynn, of Needville; Grandchildren, Chase Raska and his wife, Amanda, of Needville, Cheyenne Raska, of Needville, Cameron, Cullen and Chelsea Raska, of Needville, Crystal Raska, of Needville; Great-Grandchildren, Katelyn and Joseph; Brother, Donald Ferguson and wife, Aileen, of Austin; Sister, Wanda Ferguson Zbranek and husband, Dennis, of Sheridan; Daughter-in-law, Donna Raska; sister-in-law, Shirley Ferguson; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her three grandsons, Chase Raska, Cameron Raska and Cullen Raska, along with her nephews, Dennis Zbranek, Jr., Lloyd Ferguson and cousin, Lynn Roesler.
