Dorothy (Rohan) Holub

Dorothy Mae (Rohan) Holub, 95, of LaGrange, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born on April 11, 1931, in Rosenberg, Texas, to Julius Rohan Sr. and Eleanor (Kallus) Rohan. Dorothy was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Following the death of her husband, Albert, in 1993, she moved to LaGrange and began attending Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, Texas. She was very active in her church community and was always eager to volunteer at the church bazaar and assist with preparations for daily Mass. Dorothy found joy in many simple pleasures throughout her life. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, especially making clothing for her children. She also loved gardening, cooking and canning. In her later years, she found great enjoyment in reading. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Holub; sons-in-law, Victor Kittles and Daniel Cortez; and brothers, Leonard Rohan, Alvin Rohan and Julius Rohan, Jr. Dorothy is survived by her six daughters, Jeanette Mangrum and husband, Thomas; Jo Ann Kittles and Gary Schulz; Betty Jane Sarrels and husband, Mike; Carolyn Martin and husband, Peter; Shirley Machleit; and Diane Cortez; her son, Lawrence Holub; sister, Bernice Moore Petrosky; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George Street, Rosenberg, Texas. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
