Donna Bauman Mayo Unangst

Donna Bauman Mayo Unangst, 75, of Richmond, Texas, quietly passed away in her sleep during the early morning hours of July 21, 2023. She was born in Houston, Texas on November 15, 1947, to the late Don E. and Mary C. Bauman. Donna welcomed so many family and friends into her home and heart over the years and genuinely embraced everyone. Whether it was while living in Westchester, PA, Ocean City, NJ, Century City, CA or back home to Texas, Donna’s love of decorating and sense of style was reflected in the many places she called home. Donna was a 1966 Graduate of Dulles High School. She worked most of her life in the construction industry, first with Lem Construction and then with Waste Management as the head of human resources and payroll. Donna was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 40 plus years where she made many lifelong friends. She made spending time with her grandchildren a priority and shared a lifetime of adventures and experiences with them. Donna’s legacy will live on in her beloved family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Don W. Bauman; the father of her children, Donald R. Mayo; and her dogs, Kurt, Whitey and Zulu. Survivors include her husband of nearly 20 years, Richard A. Unangst; her children Justin Mayo and wife, Jennifer and Shannon K. Mayo; her grandchildren Aidan P. Flynn, Ainsley S. Briggs, Helene Mayo, Owen Mayo, Emma Mayo, Karly Mayo, Jesse Tepera, Sara Butler and Matthew Butler; her siblings, Dennis Bauman, Marsha Bauman, Debra Rylander, Dawn Bauman and Mary Hall. Donna is also survived by stepsons, Richard A. Unangst II and Bryan J. Unangst; step grandchildren, Reid & Cole Unangst, Scarlett Hadley and Elijah Shababo; dogs, Black Beauty and Ginger; along with extended family and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land. Donna will be laid to rest in Springfield, PA .
