Diana Zepeda Alderete July 29, 1952 – July 11, 2025 Diana Zepeda Alderete was born in Conroe, Texas, on July 29, 1952, and passed away peacefully at her home in Houston on July 11, 2025. Diana "Danny" Zepeda Alderete was the cherished daughter of William and Eva Zepeda of Rosenberg, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Anita Zepeda Cadriel, Tomisita "Tommie" Reyes, Frances Medina, and William "Bill" Zepeda. She met her lifelong love, Alex, when she was in the 7th grade and he was in the 8th. They were married for 56 years. Her professional career began at Texas Instruments, where she worked for ten years. Her experience in the technology industry led her to pursue a lifelong dream: earning a college degree. After her tenure at TI, she began working for the Houston Independent School District, where she found her true calling in education. In 2012, at the age of 65, she proudly graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. For 29 years, Diana served as a devoted Bilingual Special Education teacher, all while continuing her own education. Diana was passionate about many things—she was an avid Houston Astros fan, loved classic detective and mystery shows from the 1970s and 1980s, and, above all, treasured time spent surrounded by her beloved family. She is survived by her husband, Eliseo "Alex" Alderete; her daughter, Alexis Alderete Garza (Eric); her sons, Edward Alderete (Doreen) and Matthew Alderete (Myra); and her loving grandchildren: Erica Garza, Chelsea Garza, Ambrosia Silverio (John), Autumn Allen (Joshua), Ethan Alderete (Breanna), Emma Ferrel (Ray), Evan Alderete, and Carter Alderete. Bonus granddaughter, Miranda Zepeda. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Gianna, Elijah "Brother," Xander, Camila, Itzela, and Carter Ray. Diana is also survived by her siblings, Odulia "Lulu" Covarrubio, Jerry Zepeda, Bobby Zepeda and Steven Zepeda, along with a large extended family and many dear friends who will miss her deeply. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 beginning promptly at 10:00 AM at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with a burial to follow.
