Cyril G. Pasteka

Funeral Mass for Cyril G. Pasteka, 90, of Needville, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Fr. William D. Bartniski officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Cyril was born July 20, 1919 in Pettibone, just outside of Cameron, to Joseph C. and Mary Kostiha Pasteka. He was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and was currently a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Cyril was discharged from the U.S. Army in August of 1945, after honorably serving our country during World War II. He was a member of the K.J.T. Cyril enjoyed doing wood work and building toy trains and planes for his grandchildren. Cyril retired from Joe Denton Buick Company after working for over 25 years. After his retirement, he spent time tending to his cattle and going camping. Cyril passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Pasteka; daughter, Kathryn Ann; sisters, Mary Novak and Annie Dybala; and brothers, Adolph Pasteka, John Pasteka, Frank Pasteka and George Pasteka. Cyril is lovingly survived by his wife of 65 years, Agnes Piwetz Pasteka; daughters, Barbara Baca and husband, Daniel, Carol Koeppen and husband, Gilbert, Dorothy Warren and husband, Paul and Nancy Small and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Tia Barcak and husband, Michael, Brandon Warren and wife, Cherie, Julie Kveton and husband, Brad, Jenny Koeppen, Cody Koeppen, Kara Small, Dustin Small, Bernadette Baca and Anthony Baca and wife, Maggie; eight great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family and friends. Pallbearers will include Tia Barcak, Brandon Warren, Julie Kveton, Jenny Koeppen, Cody Koeppen, Kara Small, Dustin Small and Anthony Baca. Memorial donations may be made in Cyril's name to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George St., Rosenberg, Texas, 77471.
