Clyde Miller

Clyde Miller was born on June 18, 1952 to T.V., Sr. and Rachel Smart Miller. Clyde grew up in Rosenberg, Texas. He attended school in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District; graduating from Lamar Consolidated High School with the Class of 1971. Following graduation Clyde attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas where he studied Auto Mechanics. Clyde was employed with Quanex Gulf States Tube as a machinist for thirty years. Later, he was employed for thirteen years with the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District as a security officer for Foster High School. Clyde loved working at Foster and was dedicated to the students and the staff. Clyde was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Thompsons, Texas. He was also a former member of the Thompsons Volunteer Fire Department. Clyde lived a life of old-fashioned values encompassing hard work, community and a love of family. Clyde was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Amanda Singletary; brothers, Clarence Miller, Sr., T.V. Miller, Jr., Roy Miller, George Miller and Robert Miller. Clyde's earthly journey came to an end on June 28th. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of forty-six years Rita Miller of Thompsons. Texas; three daughters, Alicia McKnight and son-in-law Kenneth McKnight of Thompsons, Texas, Colette Edwards and son-in-law Devin Edwards of Houston, Texas and Kristin Miller of Richmond, Texas; three granddaughters, Morgan, Makayla and Mya McKnight; one grandson Grayson Edwards; two godchildren Marcus and Latasha Taylor; three sisters, Jessie Lewis and Ivory Miller of Rosenberg, Texas and Debra Taylor of Richmond, Texas and one brother Michael Miller of Rosenberg, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018 at River Pointe Church in Richmond. Burial to take place at Edwards Cemetery in Thompsons, Texas.
