Charlie Fay Roberts

Charlie Fay Roberts went to her final resting place to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the age of 98. Charlie was born in Carthage, Texas and moved to Longview where she graduated from Longview High School. After high school she moved to Houston, Texas and attended Business School. She volunteered at Second Baptist church and several other organizations after retiring from M.D. Anderson. She was always giving back. She was an amazing Mom, definitely a mama bear who always fought for her girls. She was the best Grandma a child could have. She was a loyal daughter, a great aunt, sister and mother-in-law. She was a friend to all. She had so many friends and family, everyone loved her. She was raised in church and raised her daughters in church. After her daughters left the house, she started going to Second Baptist Church. She was baptized there and started going to church and Sunday school every week. She was always inviting neighbors or friends to church. Charlie was always known to be a baker! Anyone she was visiting or anyone that was coming to visit, she always had something sweet to offer. Her son in-laws always got a baked cake (usually carrot cake) on their birthday. Any time her granddaughters came to visit, or she came over, she always baked cookies with some kind of sprinkles or candy in them. One funny story about Charlie is she did not have a good sense of directions. She got lost every time she would visit her cousins in Baytown. She actually got to a point after so many times getting lost that she could just laugh about it. Her granddaughters were the light of her life! She adored them and lavished them with some stuffed animal, gift or candy almost every time she saw them. She is preceded in death by her oldest daughter Carla Baldwin and husband Bob, her sister Nell Burleson, husband Wyman and their son Rance Burleson; and her parents Charlie and Hallie Williams. Charlie is survived by her daughter Danna Waggoner and husband Mark, her daughter Gigi Caudle and husband Steve and her granddaughters, Paige and Megan. She is also survived by her nephew Kyle Burleson and wife Eileen and their son Wayne; and her nephew Jason and niece Jenna Burleson. She will be missed by all.
