Billie Jean Mesecke

Billie Jean Mesecke entered into life on March 9, 1929 to parents of Ernest and Josephine Moss in Rock Island, Texas. Billie passed away on April 13, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston from complications of an aneurism. Being the oldest child of nine, Billie was not only the oldest sibling; she was called upon to be a leader of the family children at an early age. This love of children must have set her for her life to come. In 1948 she married Norwin T. Mesecke of Beasley. This union resulted in a family of four children that Billie continued to devote her love and life. After the youngest child was grown, Billie decided to devote her life to helping others by working with children at Richmond State School until her retirement. Billie loved to spend time with her family at her place at Lake Somerville whenever time was available. Fellowship with all the family over a plate of BBQ ribs or steak was most enjoyable for her. Again she was the binding force that kept the family together whenever possible. Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Norwin, brothers Ernest Moss Jr., Allen Moss, Bennie Moss. Survivors include daughter Deanna and husband Sam Pope of Lake Somerville, Pamela and husband Steve Anderjeski of College Station, son Randy Mesecke of Richmond, and daughter Tabby and husband Bill Shuler of Richmond. Grandchildren include Chelsea Mesecke, Chet Mesecke, Missy Wood, Holly Anderjeski, Dillon Shuler, and Keely Shuler. Great-grandchildren include Jacob & Caleb Wood. Other survivors include Billie's brothers Larry Moss and Bob Moss, sisters Betty, Susie, and JoAnn. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 15, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 16, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
