Basilio S Villalobos

Basilio S. Villalobos, 88, of Rosenberg, passed away at his home on February 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1935, in Fulshear, Texas to Loreto and Maria Villalobos. More commonly known as “Chico”, he was a welder by trade but a true man of many talents – as witnessed by his family and friends throughout his years. His latest hobbies included watching westerns, spending time with his family, and going on leisurely drives with his wife, Lorene. He also enjoyed listening and singing along to praise and worship music – using his angelic voice to praise God any chance he could. A talented craftsman, he started building El Sendero de la Cruz church in 1985, pastored from 1987 until 2007, and was involved in the Prison ministry from 1997 to 1999. He was a member of Templo Getsemani Church up until his passing. In addition to his parents, Basilio is preceded in death by his first wife Martha O. Villalobos (m. 43 years); siblings, Juan Villalobos, Antonio (Tony) Villalobos, Jose Villalobos, Lupe Banda, Luciano (Chano) Villalobos, Elvira Banda, Pedro (Pete) Villalobos, Yndalecio (Lencho) Villalobos, Estolia (Weta) Garcia, Maria (Mere) Villalobos, and Santiago (Chago) Villalobos. He is survived by his wife Lorene P. Villalobos (m. 24 years); his children, Sonya Campos, Mario Villalobos, Cindy Rios, Robert Villalobos (Sandy), and Melissa Cardenas (Jay); his step-daughters, Sylvia Zepeda, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Frank) and Imelda Saxton Juarez (Jerry); his grandchildren, Chris Garcia (Reagan), Marisa Charles (Ralph), Loretta Campos Napier (Jonah), Bianca Villalobos, Vincent Villalobos, Timothy Rios (Nikki), Andrew Rios (Cheyenne), Sydney Salazar (Norby), Robert Villalobos, Jr., Siera Cardenas, and Emma Cardenas; his step-grandchildren, Manuel Saucedo, Nicole Saucedo Padron and Garret Saxton; his great-grandchildren Caleb Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Danielle Charles, Tre Charles, Miles Charles, Mario Napier, and William Rios; along with extended family and friends. Full of love and with the kindest heart, this devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend will be missed. Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the Chapel of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Davis Greenlawn Funeral home in Rosenberg. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow on site. Reception will follow at Friends of North Rosenberg (1908 Avenue E, Rosenberg, Texas).
